Stamco Timber is an importing, manufacturing and wholesale distribution business that supplies a range of timber, boards and wood flooring products to timber/builder’s merchants, construction companies and a variety of manufacturers across a large area of the South of England.

Stamco Timber operates from a 5.5 acre site and timber mill in Hastings, East Sussex. We offer you competitive machining services that rival mills in the UK and Scandinavia - more information in our services section. Our extensive manufacturing capacity and timber treatment plant means that we can provide you with a complete end to end service for your business. We can ensure quality is maintained throughout the whole buying and production process, as well as providing you with a competitive price and exceptional customer service. Stamco was founded in 1957 as a family-owned, independent supplier of timber mouldings. The company has gone from strength to strength and is now made up of 3 businesses; Stamco Timber, Stamco Building Supplies (a merchant with branches in Eastbourne, Hastings, Hove and Shoreham) and Karelia Wood Flooring (a national wood flooring business).

October 2007: Stamco’s new machining services will rival mills in the UK and Scandinavia

We are investing over £900,000 to upgrade our wholesale timber machining services to ensure that we can offer you faster, large volume and customised machining services. The new facilities incorporate the latest technology and wil enable Stamco to offer customers a competitive service that will rival what is offered now by mills in the UK and overseas.

The implementation of the new equipment will begin in late December 2007 and become fully operational in early 2008. The investment in Weinig machinery includes:

• Two 9-head high speed moulding lines with up to 100 metres per minute capacity
• Computerised template maker for mouldings and special/customised products

Stamco has a Community Policy at the core of its business. The community programme is designed to support the regeneration of our local community, the development and motivation of our staff and the growth of our business.

We support local charities and community groups – in particular those projects that involve young people, the elderly, are local to our business and those that reflect the views of our employees.

We were the first company in Hastings and Rother to achieve the national CommunityMark – and the first builder’s merchant in the country. The CommunityMark recognises contributions made by SMEs in their community.
